2nd Place Tie — CLACC-C Youth Pan Fest 2025

Under the musical direction of arranger Christan Japsi, the Steel Sensation Youth Orchestra proudly tied for 2nd place at the 2025 CLACC-C Youth Pan Fest. This achievement celebrates the dedication, discipline, and teamwork of the next generation of pannists—young musicians who carry forward the rich rhythm and spirit of Caribbean culture through the art of steelpan music.

1st Place – Rhythm Competition

The Steel Sensation Youth Orchestra captured 1st place in the Rhythm Competition, led by Dimitri Lal. Their precision, unity, and vibrant energy brought the spirit of Trinidad and Tobago’s steelpan music to life—showcasing the passion and excellence that define Steel Sensation.

Dimitri Lal – 1st Place Winner

Dimitri’s expressive performance captured 1st place in the 2025 CLACC-C Solo Competition (Ages 18–21). His mastery of rhythm and tone exemplifies the focus, creativity, and musical excellence that define the Steel Sensation Youth Orchestra.

Daniel Francis – 2nd Place Winner

Daniel’s brilliant interpretation and steady stage presence earned him 2nd place in the 2025 CLACC-C Solo Competition (Ages 18–21). His dedication to practice and passion for steelpan music continue to inspire his peers within the orchestra.

MTV’s Jersey Shore: Family Vacation – Season 8

Board Members Tristan Japsi (Vice President & Orchestra Band Arranger) and Christan Japsi (Treasurer & Youth Orchestra Band Arranger), together with longtime pannist Kevin Jackson, proudly represented the Steel Sensation Steel Orchestra on MTV’s Jersey Shore: Family Vacation (Season 8, Episode 18 – Reunion Part 2).


Their light-hearted cameo brought the Caribbean sound of steelpan to a national audience—proving that this vibrant art form from Trinidad and Tobago belongs everywhere, from community stages to global screens.
